Oversized shirt with checkerboard pattern and drop shoulders. This shirt was created out of one grey and two black jeans and keeps some of the jeans' features in the design, like the button and zipper on the neckline.

BANUN is 19 years old and has recently started her training as a seamstress and tailor. Sewing and especially upcycling is her passion and always a joyful and constantly evolving work process.

Making things from already existing materials and garments has a lot to do with appreciation and sustainability for BANUN, which is very important to her. Most of the time she doesn't have a fixed plan when she wants to redesign or sew something and lets herself be inspired by the fabrics and experiments a lot until in the end an individual piece is created.

I am made out of jeans that were discarded due to small production defects. These jeans were given to an upcycling artist who used a lot of creativity and positive energy to create a new and unique work of art and gave me a new life.

«When I first heard about the project I was immediately in love with it. Additionally, I liked that it´s more of a challenge to create something with the broken pieces instead of just throwing them away.»
